The Ohio Star Beacon online reports that a Madison Ohio School District student created a furor after posting some pictures on her MySpace page of friends on the school bus, dressed as gangsters (in Halloween costumes) and holding a fake gun.
The school immediately suspended the students involved for 10 days and threatened expulsion of any student possessing a weapon, whether it is real or fake.
According to the Madison Superintendent, Jim Herrholtz, "It is important to realize that this was a fake gun worn on Halloween as part of a costume. While that is the case, Madison schools has a zero tolerance policy for weapons and the students involved were punished according to that policy."
